Auction Car Grading
At Live Auto Auction, we grade all vehicles in order to add them into our auction catalogues.
Our experienced inspection team grades every vehicle according to its condition and assigns an Auction Grade. This Grade is an index of a vehicle's total condition.
The auction grade is displayed on the Auction catalogue and Car details, and will be announced by the auctioneer at the time of sale. Under car details you can find our Vehicle Condition Report, were you can see in detail the inspection comments on the exterior and interior of the car.
An explanation of our auction grades is below:

New vehicles |
Vehicle is as new, it is less that 12 months old and has less than 10,000 km. The exterior and interior are in excellent condition |
5 |
Nearly new condition |
Vehicle is near new condition; It has all original parts and doesn't need any repairs. It is usually assigned to vehicles less than 3 years old. No marks, no scratches, no paintwork. |
4.5 |
Excellent Condition |
Vehicle is in excellent condition. If it has had some repairs it was done very well. Very few minor scratches or dents. |
4 |
Very good Condition |
Vehicle is in very good condition. Has a few scratches and dents due to normal wear and tear, as you would get with any normal vehicle. |
3.5 |
Good Condition |
Vehicle has minor damage - may need a panel repaired or repainted. |
3 |
Average condition |
Vehicle has various scratches or dents, it might be repainted - vehicle has had body repair or repaint work and/or has some body work to be carried out. |

Poor Condition |
The vehicle is in bad condition. It has a lot of bodywork to be carried out. |

Accident vehicle that has been repaired. Vehicle has had previously been damaged and visibly repaired – and/or has bodywork to be carried out. |

Dirty vehicle, has some wear on interior. Might have some stains, seat tears, dashboard major tears or cigarette burn, needs repair. |
